From the moment we walked into Hokkaido Santouka, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism — and that was all thanks to Solongo. She was hands-down one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and super knowledgeable about the menu, she made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Now let’s talk about the food — absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the presentation was top-notch. You can really tell they care about quality here. The ramen was rich and satisfying, the sides were perfectly cooked, and everything came out fresh and fast. Solongo made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was perfect. It’s rare to find that level of service and care. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be asking for Solongo again! Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves great food and truly exceptional service.

Came to satisfy my craving for ramen. Ordered the Shio ramen, tasted sweet and unlike the Shio ramen I had at Santouka branches outside USA. Overall, it was a good dining experience, staff were attentive and friendly.

An amazing option for ramen, maybe top 3 in the Northern Virginia area from what I've had. The first thing that stood out was how knowledgeable the staff are. I asked about one of the broth options and our waiter explained the broad and subtle differences between them all. I've had ramen before but it was cool having it explained so in depth. I got the miso and my friend got the spicy tan-tan special. Both were great and you could really see the differences in the broths. I like how you can order between 3 sizes (see pictures) rather than a fixed size and having to all for extra broth or noodles. The regular is probably in line with what most places serve and it makes for a filling meal. Shoutout the them for carrying Hokkaido Brewing beers, the white peach and plum ales were so fricking good. The authentic Japanese green tea was also very good, earthy and aromatic. The interior is clean and pretty basic, nothing eye catching aside from the ramen itself. Definitely worth stopping by for a bowl.

Great atmosphere. I ate the jalepeno tsukemen combo with gyoza and salad. Kimchi on the side. Wonderful meal and my first time trying tsukemen. The noodles had flavor, not plain, and had a great bite to them. The dipping broth was great and had a nice spicy kick but not too spicy for me. I also had their green genmaicha tea. Drinking the tea with the jazz music playing was very relaxing. Good food and experience for 36. I would go back when I'm in the area again.

Oh man let me tell you about some of the best takoyaki I have had since living in Okinawa!!! They nailed the spicy miso ramen too. Just stop and look at those photos. I ate yaki ball and then had my coworker try it and he was surprised! The fact that I had to add a little more spice was at first upsetting but... they had chili oil at the table and chili peppers. So I just kept adding a little more until I felt it was warm enough I wouldn’t need a sweater in the 30 degree weather outside. Perfect! The other thing is it didn’t at all take away from the flavor. It was really place too. Very clean and easy to see why they have such a good rating! They also don’t add the egg to your bowl so don’t let that photo confuse you. That was at the point I realized this place was good that I took the photo. Had no intent on rating this meal. So good!!!

May 21, 2025: I would definitely come back again! The food was delicious. We were craving something homemade after a while of eating fast food, and we definitely made the right choice by coming here. We sat inside, and there was no wait time. The music was at the perfect volume for conversation or a leisurely meal. The staff were friendly and efficient; the food was ready about 10 minutes after ordering. It took us longer to choose with so many options (there's something for everyone). The noodles were in perfect condition, the broth had personality. The only thing I would have liked more was to brown the chashu a little more and ask for an extra portion of gyozas.
